Listening to KSFS, Then and Now: A Tuned In Mini-sode

When MTV first aired, the first video played was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles. Despite the slightly ominious lyrics, radio has survived and successfully transistioned into the internet age. There have been a few casualities, of course, like the switch to paid radio like satiletti but there has been a wider net cast for anyone who wants to have a radio show thanks to the internet and Pro Tools.

KSFS wasn't always exclusively online. It once had the radio signal 88.1 but it was only able to be listened to on the SF State campus. The radio tower fell more out of use until it was disconnected a few years ago. Though now anyone anywhere can listen to the radio programs, it is done online and not via a traditional radio. Unless of course you're hanging out in the KSFS lounge.
